Job summary

Bexar County Precinct 3 Office is hiring a Constable Security Monitor to screen individuals at facilities, operate metal detectors and x-ray scanners, monitor alarms, and maintain logs. The role requires strong communication, vigilance, and the ability to handle stressful situations in a public security setting.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED with two years of public-facing experience; TCIC/NCIC certification must be obtained within one year.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years’ experience dealing with the public or in a security-related role preferred.
• Knowledge of security practices and equipment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Screen individuals entering county facilities with metal detectors and x-ray scanners.
• Monitor surveillance equipment and emergency alarms; log activities.
• Control access through security doors for authorized personnel and deliveries.
• Test alarms and record results; research criminal history information as required.
• Maintain accurate logs and assist with related clerical tasks.
