Job Description:
To provide intermediate-level specialized skills in the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of scientific, electronic, computer, or mechanical equipment.

Specific Job-Related Duties:
An Engineering technician maintains technical resources for the UTMB Police department, b y implementing and maintaining sophisticated technical security devices and systems. Technicians provide the technical expertise to protect facilities, personnel, and classified data from potential crime, terror, and espionage threats.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Working Environment:
Field work in outdoor conditions, including inclement weather. Requires wear of department-issued uniforms and safety equipment. A valid driver’s license is required due to occasional travel using a department vehicle.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., ascend and descend ladders and stairs, work at extreme heights and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.

Starting Annual Salary $57,040 - $81,995
