Job summary

Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group is seeking Seasonal Event Security personnel in San Antonio, TX for Sept–Nov 2026. You will be the first line of safety, managing access, crowds, and incidents with calm professionalism.

Responsibilities include bag checks, ticket verification support, crowd flow control, and reporting incidents. You must be 18+, reliable, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

  • Prior security experience is required—event, venue, nightclub, retail loss prevention, or similar environments strongly preferred.
  • Ability to de-escalate tense situations calmly and effectively without unnecessary confrontation.
  • Strong situational awareness and sound judgment in fast-moving, high-stimulation environments.
  • Clear, professional communication skills—both with guests and internal team members via radio.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and patrolling outdoors for the full duration of each shift in varied weather conditions.
  • Reliable and consistent attendance throughout the full season—evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first line of safety for guests, staff, and performers, maintaining presence and professionalism.
  • Monitor entry points, exits, and zones to ensure authorized access and orderly guest flow.
  • Support bag checks, ticket verification, and prohibited item screenings per policy.
  • Manage crowd density in queues and at entrances to prevent overcrowding and maintain safe throughput.
  • Direct guests clearly to maintain organized movement around the venue.
  • Identify and de-escalate disruptive or unsafe behavior using calm, professional techniques.
  • Report incidents, ejections, or emergencies to security lead and operations via radio.
  • Coordinate with on-site EMTs, police, and event leadership when escalation is needed.
  • Complete accurate incident reports for security-related events each shift.
  • Conduct regular patrols of event spaces, parking, and perimeter to deter misconduct and hazards.
  • Remain visible throughout shifts; your presence acts as a deterrent.
  • Assist with emergency evacuation procedures and help guests with special needs as directed.

What You'll Do

What Youll Do
  • As a Seasonal Event Security team member, you are the first line of safety for our guests, staff, and performers. Your presence, professionalism, and situational awareness keep the experience running smoothly—so everyone can focus on the fun.
  • Access Control & Crowd Management: Monitor entry points, exits, and designated zones throughout the event footprint to ensure authorized access and orderly guest flow
  • Access Control & Crowd Management: Conduct bag checks, ticket verification support, and prohibited item screenings at entry in accordance with company policy
  • Access Control & Crowd Management: Manage crowd density in queues, attraction entrances, and high-traffic areas to prevent overcrowding and maintain safe throughput
  • Access Control & Crowd Management: Direct guests clearly and professionally to maintain organized movement throughout the venue
  • Incident Response & De-escalation: Identify and respond to disruptive, unsafe, or suspicious behavior using calm, professional de-escalation techniques
  • Incident Response & De-escalation: Immediately report incidents, ejections, or emergencies to the security lead and operations management via radio
  • Incident Response & De-escalation: Coordinate with on-site EMTs, local law enforcement, and event leadership when situations require escalation
  • Incident Response & De-escalation: Complete accurate incident reports for all security-related events during each shift
  • Venue Safety & Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the event space, parking areas, and perimeter to deter misconduct and identify hazards
  • Venue Safety & Patrols: Remain alert and visible throughout the full duration of each shift—your presence is part of the deterrent
  • Venue Safety & Patrols: Support emergency evacuation procedures and assist guests with special needs as directed
