Job summary

Citi is seeking a Securitized Products Group Salesperson in Chicago to support institutional clients across MBS, ABS, CMBS, CLOs and whole loans. The role focuses on execution, client interaction, and market updates.

You will work with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Finance to ensure governance. The successful candidate will build relationships, analyze data, and maintain client records while pursuing required licenses within the role.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years relevant experience.
• Prior Sales experience at a financial services organization.
• Broad client relationships preferred.
• Experience in a client facing role working with the buy-side community.
• Self-Motivated, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Advanced problem solving skills.
• Must have or be able to obtain licenses required, Series 3, 7, 55, 63.

Responsibilities

• Support senior sales professionals covering institutional clients across agency and non-agency MBS, ABS, CMBS, CLOs and whole loans.
• Assist with the daily execution, booking and settlement of client transactions.
• Communicate and interact directly with clients to understand their investment objectives, respond to inquiries, and develop relationships.
• Prepare trade confirmations, pricing runs, inventory lists and client-facing market updates.
• Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
• Monitor trade activity, settlement status, allocations and potential breaks, resolving issues as they arise.
• Maintain client coverage records, transaction histories, contact information and account documentation.
• Help distribute new-issue information, deal announcements, offering materials and secondary-market opportunities.
• Track client inquiries, axes, bids wanted in competition (BWICs), offerings and follow-up items.
• Assist salespeople with client meeting preparation, presentations, market data and portfolio analysis.
• Respond promptly and professionally to client requests while developing an understanding of each account’s investment objectives and portfolio needs.
• Ensure all activities comply with firm policies, regulatory requirements and internal control procedures.
• Develop a strong working knowledge of securitized products, market conventions, relative-value analysis and the broader fixed‑income market.
• Provide general administrative and organizational support to the senior sales team, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and assist in client entertainment.
• Obtain and maintain all necessary securities license within the requires timeframe.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
