Job summary

Santander is seeking a CIB Securitization Senior Legal Counsel, Executive Director, to serve as lead counsel and day-to-day contact for the bank’s securitization and structured finance transactions. You will draft and negotiate deal documents, advise on securities laws, and work closely with senior stakeholders to shape legal strategy.

The role requires a J.D. with bar admission and 8–12 years of relevant experience; strong autonomous judgment and multitasking ability are essential.

Qualifications

• J.D. Degree required and admitted to practice in the state of candidate’s practice.
• 8–12 years of securitization/structured products experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter with initiative and anticipation skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation and drafting of deal documents for securitization transactions, exercising independent judgment on complex issues.
• Serve as lead counsel and primary day-to-day contact for CIB Securitized Products Group on banking, lending, and capital markets transactions.
• Advise business stakeholders on applicable securities and banking laws and regulatory implications.
• Support adjacent business lines as a senior legal resource and manage high-risk matters autonomously.
