Job summary

Citi is seeking a Securities Settlement Team Lead in Budapest. The role oversees the daily workflow of the Securities Settlement Services team, coordinating with Customer Service to ensure best‑in‑class settlement activities while building strong client relationships on Citi's Custody platform.

The position emphasizes process improvement, delivery excellence, and leadership in a hybrid work setting, with focus on Hungarian market settlements and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in Securities Settlement Operations; knowledge of local market infrastructure is required.
• Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
• Advanced knowledge of SWIFT MT5XX messages and ISO 20022 messaging standards.
• Strong project management skills.
• People management is an advantage but not required.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English and Hungarian.
• Influencing and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end Settlement services for Citi's clients on the Hungarian market for Hungarian securities as part of Custody services.
• Act as an ambassador for clients in the Hungarian market, delivering top‑tier Custody services.
• Participate in upcoming industry‑level projects and contribute to internal development and implementation projects.
• Drive organizational change through innovation and process improvement, eliminating friction points within the team.
• Promote operational excellence to ensure high‑quality service delivery and productivity.
• Deliver an exceptional client experience by understanding and addressing clients' needs, with performance measured through established service and quality metrics.
• Managing the team work of Securities Settlements.
