Job summary

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school; NY Bar admission or prompt admission.
  • 2–5 years of post-qualification experience in securities litigation and/or complex commercial litigation at a reputable firm.
  • Experience with securities enforcement or regulatory investigations (e.g., SEC, DOJ).
  • Strong legal research and writing skills; track record of drafting substantive motions and briefs.
  • Proficiency in federal and state court practice; managing discovery and depositions in complex matters.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and revise complaints, answers, motions, briefs, and other pleadings in securities and complex matters.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research on securities laws and related issues.
  • Manage written discovery; coordinate document production and review workflows.
  • Prepare for and assist in depositions; coordinate with witnesses and experts.
  • Support oral argument and hearing preparation with outlines and exhibits.
  • Analyze facts to shape litigation strategy and assess risks.
  • Coordinate with clients, co-counsel, and teams to meet deadlines.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness prep, exhibits, and pretrial filings.

About the Role:
As a Securities Litigation Associate, you will support and drive all phases of complex securities and commercial litigation in federal and state courts. You will play a key role in case development, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation, working closely with partners and clients to advance litigation strategies. Your work will directly impact case outcomes and contribute to the firm's reputation for excellence in high-stakes disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and revise complaints, answers, motions, briefs, and other substantive pleadings in securities and complex commercial matters.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on securities laws, regulations, and related procedural issues.
  • Manage written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, coordinating document production, and overseeing review workflows.
  • Prepare for and assist in depositions, including drafting outlines, reviewing transcripts, and coordinating with witnesses and experts.
  • Support oral argument and hearing preparation by developing outlines, exhibits, and case presentations.
  • Analyze case facts and evidence to help shape litigation strategy, evaluate claims and defenses, and assess risk and exposure.
  • Coordinate with clients, co-counsel, and internal teams to ensure timely execution of case tasks and adherence to court deadlines.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit lists, pretrial filings, and post-trial submissions.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated securities litigation experience, including work on federal securities class actions, derivative suits, or related matters.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with a track record of drafting substantive motions and briefs.
  • Proficiency in federal and state court practice, including familiarity with applicable rules of procedure and evidence.
  • Hands-on experience managing discovery and depositions in complex litigation.
  • Background in complex commercial litigation involving multiple parties, claims, or jurisdictions.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a high-volume practice.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Admission to the New York Bar or eligibility for prompt admission.
  • Experience with securities enforcement or regulatory investigations involving the SEC, DOJ, or other regulators.
  • Exposure to class certification, summary judgment, and appellate practice in securities or complex commercial cases.
  • Familiarity with e-discovery tools, document review platforms, and litigation support technologies.
  • Prior experience working with financial institutions, public companies, or broker-dealers in a litigation context.
  • Comfort working with financial statements, market data, and expert reports in securities-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in securities litigation and/or complex commercial litigation at a reputable law firm.
  • Membership in good standing with the New York Bar (or ability to gain admission promptly).
  • Judicial clerkship experience in federal or state court preferred but not required.
