Job description

We are seeking an experienced capital markets operations professional to join our Securities & Derivatives Operations team. This role combines operational leadership with hands‑on support across securities and derivatives products, with responsibility for trade processing, settlements, collateral and margin activities, reconciliations, operational controls, risk initiatives, and process improvement efforts.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a strong control environment, resolving operational issues, supporting change initiatives, and helping develop team capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day oversight of securities and derivatives operations, including settlements, lifecycle events, collateral management, reconciliations, and exception processing.
  • Lead the investigation, escalation, and resolution of operational issues and trade exceptions.
  • Partner with Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Accounting, Technology, counterparties, custodians, and other stakeholders to support business activities.
  • Promote operational excellence through strong controls, documentation, risk awareness, and process discipline.
  • Review and validate operational, reconciliation, management, and risk reporting.
  • Support audits, control testing, risk assessments, issue remediation efforts, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Participate in system enhancements, process improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and operational projects.
  • Mentor team members, support cross‑training efforts, and help strengthen operational resiliency and succession coverage.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management, including support for urgent operational requests, staff coverage needs, and management reporting.
  • Based on changes in the business work environment, job responsibilities can change, and additional functions and tasks may be added or removed accordingly. Additionally, this position will perform other duties as required, and participate in special projects as deemed necessary and appropriate by Management.
Skills & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent financial services experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 4-8 years of experience in securities operations, derivatives operations, capital markets operations, middle office, or back‑office support within a financial institution. Job Title is dependent on experience.
  • Strong knowledge of securities settlement and/or derivatives operations.
  • Experience operating within a risk‑conscious and control‑driven environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and drive issues to resolution.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $85K - $110K depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
