Job summary

RTX in Windsor Locks, CT is seeking a cybersecurity-focused engineering student for its Secure System Engineering team. You will collaborate on fuzzing, penetration testing, threat modeling, and ensuring data isolation in transit and at rest.

The role emphasizes hands-on Python scripting, Linux, and security testing methods within an embedded systems context, onsite in a defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field and enrolled through completion of internship/co-op.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by start of internship/co-op.
• Solid understanding of fundamental cybersecurity principles.
• High proficiency in Python programming.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Basic knowledge of network protocols and secure architectures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and executing fuzzing and penetration tests to evaluate attack surface robustness.
• Develop threat models and data flow diagrams to ensure data is properly isolated in transit and at rest.
• Implement mandatory access controls through development of SELinux policies.
• Participate in code reviews to identify weaknesses in security implementations.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments on proposed and in-service systems.
• Develop and improve tools and scripts for Embedded Product Cybersecurity team.
