Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a versatile software engineer with TS/SCI clearance to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable software for government customers. The role operates in a fast‑paced, agile environment, emphasizing open communication and delivery of quality models on a tight schedule.

You will translate mission requirements into technical specifications, implement robust code, and participate in code reviews, unit and integration testing.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance and in-scope full-scope polygraph required on Day 1
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical field
• 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in federal or defense environments
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++)
• Experience with secure coding practices and working in classified environments
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and version control (Git)
• Must be willing to work 5 days per week in SCIF in Annapolis Junction, MD

Responsibilities

• Translate mission requirements into technical specifications and implement robust, maintainable code
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure software quality and security compliance
• Support DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD processes for rapid and secure deployment
