Job summary

Tufts Technology Services seeks an experienced High Performance Computing Engineer to design, deploy, and support secure HPC systems for a compliant research computing environment. You will integrate new services with gateways like Open OnDemand, Jupyter Notebooks, and RStudio, while collaborating with RT and TTS teams to ensure cohesive planning and security best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a science or related field.
• 8+ years in higher education, research, scientific or technical computing environments.
• Experience with HPC architectures, gateways, and networking.
• Experience with job schedulers, containers, and GPU/CPU libraries.
• Proficient in scripting (Shell, Python, Perl).
• Familiarity with OpenOnDemand or similar gateways and HPC web portals.
• Knowledge of HPC frameworks and libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Ability to work across teams and communicate with researchers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy high-performance computing systems and applications.
• Provide system administration services and evaluate Proof of Concept systems.
• Maintain ties with the research computing community to share paradigms and methods.
• Proactively plan, document work, and ensure cohesive integration with existing infrastructure.
