Job summary

Ford Energy is seeking an Embedded Software & Cybersecurity Engineer to design, develop, and secure firmware powering Ford Energy's battery management and monitoring systems. You will own software architecture on microcontrollers and embedded processors within the BESS environment and work with Ford Auto Engineering and Ford Energy teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will implement secure boot, memory partitioning, and cryptographic key lifecycle management, while developing drivers

Qualifications

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for BMS controllers and battery monitoring electronics.
• Architect secure‑by‑design firmware structures with memory partitioning and secure bootloaders.
• Implement Hardware Root of Trust, secure boot chains, and code signing pipelines.
• Develop and maintain low‑level drivers and middleware for MCU peripherals (ADC, UART, SPI, CAN).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for BMS controllers and battery monitoring electronics, including drivers and RTOS tasks.
• Architect secure‑by‑design firmware structures to support functional and security requirements.
• Implement hardware root of trust, secure boot chains, and cryptographic key lifecycle management.
