Job summary

Beyond SOF, a fast-growing startup, seeks a Deployment Engineer to design and implement secure, distributed data processing systems in MD, near DC. You’ll build services and APIs while influencing product direction and the company’s technical roadmap.

You’ll bring 5+ years in systems administration, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, with Bash, Python, and Java, plus Linux, cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure), and security-focused development.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps.
• Experience integrating systems into enterprise networks and software infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Bash scripting, Python, and Java.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (Northern Virginia and international).
• Ability to learn new technical skills quickly.

Responsibilities

• Implement secure processing of data on distributed systems.
• Build distributed systems using Hadoop, Spark, and AWS.
• Harden algorithms and services against compromise.
• Build new services and APIs to improve user experience.
• Influence technical direction, product design, and company culture as an early engineer.
