Job summary

Valdese Weavers is seeking a Sectional Creeler Operator for the 2nd shift to support the warper by creeling yarn, maintaining cone ties, and adjusting equipment. The role requires reading, writing, and math skills, plus manual dexterity and knot-tying abilities.

You will also learn color patterning, perform safety duties, and participate in overtime as needed. We offer a shift premium of $1.00 for 2nd shift, and an attendance bonus that adds value when time is not missed.

Qualifications

• Ability to tie a weaver’s knot.
• Ability to climb, reach, and bend.

Responsibilities

• Creel yarn for the warper.
• Keep cones tied in warper creel.
• Assist warper tender in creel changes.
• Learn the patterns and positions to hang when running multiple colors.
• Adjust arbors as needed.
• Sweep when needed – at least three times per shift.
• Open yarn cases and break down boxes.
• Take out empty cones and trash once per shift.
• Learn to operate the warper and relieve the warper tender for breaks.
• Cut off beams.
• Help warper tender bring ends up to relays.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Work scheduled overtime.

As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods.
