Job description

The Virginia Symphony Orchestra is seeking a Section Violin for a tenure track position. The live audition is scheduled for March 29, 2027, with a deadline for materials submission on March 8, 2027. The per service rate for the 2026-27 season is $145.65, with a minimum guarantee of 60 services. The orchestra performs a 36-week season that includes a variety of repertoire such as classical, pops, family, ballet, and opera. Selected candidates will receive a pension of 7.194% from the AFM.Candidates must submit a deposit check of $100.00 by March 8, 2027, to the Personnel Manager at the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Non-citizens must have US work authorization to be eligible for employment. The position will begin at the earliest availability of the selected candidate. If a candidate needs to cancel, they can receive a refund of their deposit if they do so by March 22, 2027.
