The Asheville Symphony is looking for section violin players to join its per service orchestra, which provides around 75 orchestral services each year. Compensation for section players starts at $103 per service, with total estimated season earnings around $7,500, depending on travel mileage. The orchestra also offers travel mileage reimbursement and host housing based on need.The Asheville Symphony is dedicated to performing and promoting symphonic music for the enjoyment and education of the Western North Carolina community. With an annual budget of $3,800,000, the Symphony reaches over 50,000 people in the region and offers various music education programs for students, including Young People’s Concerts and the Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra.Auditions will be conducted via MP3 and video applications, with a submission deadline of December 1, 2026. An audition committee will review all applications and make decisions by mid-January 2027. Qualified candidates may be considered for future substitute opportunities.
