Job description

CCAR Industries is 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities in Central Illinois. We own eight residential homes, three day programs, and an administrative building in Charleston. We are searching for a full-time Section Leader who would be responsible for coordinating activities in our manufacturing day program's warehouse and providing assistance to maintain our properties under the supervision of our Maintenance Manager.

SCHEDULE

  • This is a permanent, full-time position on Monday - Friday from 7 am - 3:30 pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
  • Weekends and major holidays off

GENERAL JOB DUTIES

  • Routinely inspect machinery and equipment for safety
  • Assist with facility repairs across programs including: carpentry, basic plumbing, small appliance repairs, interior/exterior painting, and exterior building repairs
  • Inventory control and tracking of warehouse materials and shipments
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, as needed
  • Operating a fork truck and hand truck to move materials
  • Provide supervision to program participant workers, as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must possess a GED or high school diploma
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS CANTS background check.
  • Must complete 120 hours of paid training to become a direct support person, unless this training has been previously completed
  • Must be able to work independently or as a team
  • Experience with the following is preferred: carpentry and household repairs, operating a hand truck, driving a fork truck, and operating power tools
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, such as Excel and Word
  • Demonstrate organization, timeliness, and accuracy in documentation

WAGES

This position starts at $17.75/hour with a $0.50 increase when training is complete.

PAY SCHEDULE

Every two weeks with direct deposit available upon request
