A leading hospital in Illinois is seeking a responsible professional for their laboratory team. The ideal candidate will perform various laboratory tests, ensure quality control, and develop methodologies in a collaborative environment, adhering to safety and quality standards. Job Summary: Takes responsibility for the section assigned. Performs laboratory tests in hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, special chemistry, minimal microbiology, transfusion service, and serology according to policy and procedure. Performs calibrations and interprets testing and QC patterns. Pathology Section Head will primarily be in pathology.

Job Responsibilities:
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Certification/Licensure:
HTL(ASCP) preferred
Experience Requirements:
Minimum three years hospital laboratory experience in the assigned section preferred.
Working Conditions: Exposure Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood , body fluids, or tissues. All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of them, are Category I tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures should be required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
