The Maine Public Utilities Commission seeks a highly motivated individual to fill a full-time Secretary Associate Legal position in the Legal Division.
Responsibilities include providing administrative support to MPUC attorneys and legal personnel, requiring knowledge of legal processes, procedures, terminology, and documents. The role involves using independent judgment, initiative, and discretion to handle various matters, including setting up and recording proceedings (in-person and video), taking legal notes during conferences, hearings, and technical sessions for creating transcripts for the administrative record.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, both in person and over the phone, and serve as an intermediary with public and private contacts. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and the Commission's case management system is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience or education in office and administrative support work demonstrating:
Knowledge of legal terminology and practices is essential. All candidates must meet the qualifications of a Secretary.
Salary: Pay Grade 17 ($40,081.60 - $57,699.20 annually).
