Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a hands-on Structured Cabling Technician to support multiple government projects in the DMV region. The role emphasizes fiber, copper, and conduit installations, with 4–7 years of structured cabling experience and local travel to federal facilities.

You will install, test, and certify cabling systems, read blueprints, and collaborate across enterprise and government environments, with a Secret clearance preferred and DMV-area travel.

Qualifications

• BICSI Technician Certification (TECH) or equivalent.
• Experience with both fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Secret Security Clearance (or higher).
• Conduit installation and bending experience.
• 4–7 years of structured cabling experience.
• Experience performing full infrastructure buildouts from start to finish.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the DMV area.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
• Perform complete cabling buildouts from the ground up.
• Install and work with conduit, including bending and routing.
• Pull, route, label, and certify cabling infrastructure.
• Install racks, cabinets, cable pathways, and telecommunications equipment.
• Conduct fiber and copper testing using Fluke certification equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and telecommunications drawings.
• Support deployments across enterprise, commercial, government, and data center environments.

Location: DMV Region (Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia)

Travel: Local travel to customer sites including federal and government facilities

Compensation: $100K–$105K conversion salary (starting approximately $35–$40/hr)
