Job summary

The U.S. Secret Service seeks Officers in the Uniformed Division to protect facilities and venues secured for protectees. Officers perform protective assignments, safeguard sites, and travel in support of the President, Vice President, and foreign heads of state/government missions.

The position requires Washington, DC relocation and completion of extensive training at FLETC and the James J. Rowley Training Center.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required to work in the United States.
• Possess a current valid driver's license and be REAL ID compliant.
• Must be at least 20 years old and under 40 on referral.
• Submit to drug testing and disclose prior drug use.
• Automatic credit check after initial qualifications.
• Be able to carry and use a firearm with appropriate proficiency.
• Complete 13 weeks of FLETC training and 18 weeks of JRTRT training.
• Register with Selective Service System or be exempt if male born after 1959.
• Limited-term Schedule B appointment for 3 years 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard the White House complex, the Vice President's residence, and other designated facilities.
• Provide security for foreign missions and embassies.
• Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions.
