Job summary

Booker DiMaio, LLC seeks a Technical Writer to support the Naval Shipyard Support Office in Portsmouth, VA. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and standardizing technical documentation, SOPs, MOAs/MOUs, and related formal documents for Navy shipyard operations.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of configuration management experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office and document control systems, and an active Secret clearance. This is a 100% onsite position in Portsmouth, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with configuration management processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and documentation management systems.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• U.S. work authorization.
• Experience supporting DoD or U.S. Navy programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and publish technical documentation, manuals, SOPs, and process materials.
• Gather and interpret technical information and coordinate document formatting, organization, and layout for publication.
• Provide technical writing support, including configuration control, version management, and maintenance of corporate documentation.
• Develop and maintain AIM-NG process manuals and related documentation.
• Prepare MOAs, MOUs, PBAs, NAVSEA correspondence, and other formal documentation.
• Coordinate internal and external reviews of AIM-NG chapters and related documentation with stakeholders across the shipyard maintenance community.
• Create and maintain SOPs and process documentation across multiple functional areas.
• Prepare meeting minutes, action items, summaries, action plans, presentations, and out-briefs.
• Support the development of technical reports, metrics packages, and documentation related to data analysis and performance reporting.
• Maintain documentation repositories and collaboration tools, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
• Maintain and update business process and requirements documentation, including current-state ("As-Is") process maps.
• Ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, quality, and adherence to established standards and document-control procedures.
