Job summary

cape-henry is seeking a talented Software Engineer - Product Manager for Tactical Communications Systems based in APG, MD. The ideal candidate should possess at least 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with specific experience supporting Department of War communications systems. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, while a Master’s degree is preferred.

Key responsibilities include developing advanced software solutions for Army tactical radios and leading technical initiatives. Candidates must also have proficiency in languages like C++, Java, or Python, and familiarity with secure coding practices and networking protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years supporting Department of War communications or mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and integrate advanced software solutions for Army tactical radios.
• Provide technical leadership for secure and scalable software architectures.
• Collaborate with teams to define requirements and implementation roadmaps.
• Conduct code reviews and drive continuous software performance improvements.
• Support system-level testing, fielding, and sustainment activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation compliant with Army and DoD standards.
• Travel as required (~20%).
