Job summary

SAIC seeks an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to support the modernization of space launch ranges and enable Assured Access to Space (AATS). This role is based in Santa Maria, CA, and focuses on delivering new range capabilities to accelerate launch cadence.

You will perform electrical and mechanical analysis at the rack level, oversee installation and testing, generate ASME/IEEE drawings, and assist in integrating RF/telemetry/communications systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of related experience; or advanced degrees with relevant experience.
• Experience designing or modifying hardware, producing production specs, and testing conformance.
• DoD environment experience and ability to obtain/maintain secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical analysis at the rack level for complex systems.
• Oversee installation, testing, planning reviews, and functional checks.
• Create engineering drawings per ASME/IEEE standards and wiring diagrams.
• Support system integration, test, and maintenance across subsystems.
• Troubleshoot and provide lab and site integration support.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve complex issues affecting operations.
