Job summary

People Technology And Processes in Newport, RI is seeking a Material Handling Laborer for our NUWCDIVNPT warehouse operations. The role involves receiving, warehousing, and delivering materials using forklifts and pallet jacks, with a focus on security and accuracy for SUBSAFE/LEVEL I/DSS-SOC materials.

Responsibilities include operating MHE, inspecting equipment, maintaining OSHA certifications, stocking, labeling, and packing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• OSHA forklift certification required for up to 15K lbs.
• At least 1 year of experience operating MHE in a warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Operate government-provided MHE including pallet jacks and forklifts (up to 36,000 lb capacity).
• Perform MHE inspection before and after operation.
• Report issues to Government Lead and do not operate until resolved.
• Maintain OSHA certifications and forklift training.
• Offload material from delivery vehicles using MHE.
• Transport material from receiving to storage locations.
• Support material receipt, validation, and labeling operations.
• Store material per Government Location Schema using MHE.
• Conduct re-warehousing, stock rotation, and warehouse maintenance.
• Assemble, install, and maintain storage aids (racks, bins, pallets).
• Keep warehouse clean and safe; operate Zamboni for floor cleaning.
• Perform COSIS, protect material from damage/deterioration/pilferage.
• Pack, package, handle, load, and move material to delivery truck.
• Deliver material to meet priority timelines.
