Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector seeks an SCA Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our Flight Operations team at Ellsworth AFB, SD. You will perform maintenance and repair on aircraft ground support equipment and review maintenance records to ensure readiness for daily operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of aviation support experience, the ability to travel up to 10%, and eligibility to obtain Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with minimum 4 years of related experience in civilian or military aviation support equipment.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Willingness to travel for training (12 weeks) prior to relocation to permanent location.
• Willingness to work on an aircraft flightline year-round across all three shifts and weekends.
• Ability to obtain PRI/PRP certification and U.S. government Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and required program access.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled maintenance and in-depth repair on aircraft ground support equipment.
• Reviews maintenance records to ensure equipment is fully operational for daily requirements.
• Uses basic hand tools and precision measuring devices.
• Reads and follows complex written instructions, including test specifications and manuals.
• May instruct junior mechanics in GSE work and safety procedures.
• Provides on-the-job training to customer personnel as needed.
