Job summary

Insight Global seeks a cleared Engineering Technician to support mechanical assembly, environmental testing, and electrical integration for defense/aerospace systems. The role requires an active Secret clearance and involves rotating shifts on a 9/80 schedule.

Responsibilities include mechanical assembly, environmental testing (vibration, thermal, altitude, shock), and electrical work (cable assembly, harness installation, wiring).

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain/upgrade
  • 4+ years in Engineering Technician, Test Technician, Electronics Technician, Manufacturing Technician, or similar
  • Experience mechanical assembly using drawings and work instructions
  • Experience environmental testing (vibration, thermal, altitude, shock etc.)
  • Experience electrical assembly including wiring, cable/harness installation, connector termination, troubleshooting
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and test procedures
  • Experience with electrical test equipment (multimeters, power supplies, testers)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical issues
  • Ability to support rotating days/nights in production/test environments
  • High School Diploma or GED; relevant Associate degrees in related fields
  • Aerospace/defense/government program experience
  • Experience with environmental test labs or qualification testing
  • Familiarity with vibration tables, thermal chambers, shock testing, and data acquisition
  • IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001)
  • Experience with soldering, cable assembly, and wire harness fabrication
  • Knowledge of configuration management in controlled environments
  • Experience documenting test results and corrective actions
  • Active Top Secret Clearance or eligibility to upgrade clearance

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly of components, subassemblies, and systems
  • Support environmental testing (vibration, thermal, altitude, shock)
  • Perform electrical work including wiring, harness installation, connector termination
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, test procedures, and work instructions
  • Document test results, discrepancies, and corrective actions
  • Support development and production programs in a regulated environment
  • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, and test teams
