Job summary

SMX is hiring a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize systems for data collection, storage, access, and analytics at scale. You will transform raw information from diverse sources into robust data pipelines for data scientists and data-centric applications.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 8+ years of experience, strong SQL, data modeling and ETL skills, and an Active Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, data engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional data engineering or backend software experience.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Strong SQL and data query skills.
• Experience with data modeling, migration, and ETL.

Responsibilities

• Create data pipelines that convert raw data into usable formats for data scientists and data-centric applications.
• Make data available, accessible, and secure to stakeholders.
• Ensure data pipelines meet SLAs and performance standards.
• Monitor data repositories and pipelines to ensure operational efficiency and resolve issues.
• Implement orchestration and automation solutions for data pipelines.
