Job summary

Cherokee Federal is hiring a Construction Safety Officer to oversee safety at construction sites, ensuring compliance with regulations and contract requirements. The role involves conducting inspections, delivering safety training, and coordinating with project leadership to maintain a safe work environment.

The candidate will need OSHA 30 or EM385-1-1 certification, strong knowledge of 29 CFR 1926, and the ability to read complex contract documents.

Qualifications

• Experience in large scale construction projects and safety program oversight.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, blueprints and safety rules.
• Experience with OSHA 300 log and Incident Rate calculations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect jobsite for safety violations and document findings.
• Lead weekly safety meetings and inspections.
• Prepare safety reports for Project Manager.
• Ensure workers are trained in safety procedures and practices.
• Provide daily safety briefings to site workers.
• Review AHA and coordinate safety meetings and inspections.
• Support Site Superintendent/Construction Manager as needed.
• Act as Site Safety Officer on projects.
