Job description

PAY: $90-110/hour W2. Our company offers our consultants a suite of benefits after a qualification period including health, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance.

Fully Remote role, no onsite work expected.

W2 Candidates. C2C is not possible for this role.

Manager Notes

• Should have a background in SecOps and DevOps. SecOps is most important.
• Experience implementing and working with third-party tools like Teleport, CrowdStrike EDR, Tenable, SIEM, etc.
• Open to any industry, as long as they have cloud infrastructure and experience with those third-party tools.
• Oracle Cloud experience is a MUST.
• OCI Certifications are a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and maintain OCI infrastructure components including compute, networking (VCNs, subnets, gateways), storage, and load balancers.
• Design, deploy, and maintain multi-cloud networking (Egress and Workload VCNs, firewall/NAT gateways, AWS transit), enforcing traffic control policies.
• Implement and manage OCI IAM policies, compartments, dynamic groups, and federation.
• Harden OCI infrastructure following CIS Benchmarks and security best practices.
• Apply security patches and manage updates across OCI-hosted applications and services.
• Design and operate monitoring, alerting, and reliability stacks (Datadog, OCI Metrics, PagerDuty) with SLO/SLA tracking and cost optimization.
• Monitor and respond to security alerts from OCI tools like Cloud Guard, Logging, and Security Zones.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code pipelines using Terraform Cloud, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Coordinate configuration and patch management with Ansible Automation Platform.
• Configure and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high availability setups within OCI.
• Regularly review access, entitlements, and audit logs to ensure least privilege and policy compliance.
• Assist with security incident investigations and remediation.
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to enforce controls and best practices.
• Work with developers, integration engineers, finance, and security stakeholders to improve OCI capabilities.
• Monitor and recommend initiatives based on emerging threats to cloud environments.
• Manage remediation efforts after security assessments.
• Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with security tools like Teleport, CrowdStrike EDR, Tenable, SIEM, etc.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity or related engineering roles.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Strong understanding of OCI networking, IAM, security, and resource management.
• Experience with OCI-native security services (Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Logging, Vault).
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (preferably Terraform).
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible.
• Solid understanding of security best practices, including least privilege, encryption, hardening, vulnerability, and key management.
• Familiarity with compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA) as they relate to OCI.
• Experience supporting production workloads in cloud environments.
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation and monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications:

• OCI Certified Architect or Security Professional.
• Experience integrating OCI with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar).
• Experience in hybrid on-prem + OCI environments.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Datadog.
• Experience with log pipelines and log manipulation (e.g., Cribl Stream).
• Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and DevSecOps processes.
• Knowledge of AWS Networking and multi-cloud connectivity is a bonus.
