Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education.
• Missouri DESE certification in applicable Special Education field(s) or eligibility.
• Special Education certifications may include Blind & Low Vision; Deaf & Hard of Hearing; Early Childhood; Mild/Moderate Cross Categorical; Severely Developmentally Disabled.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies, assessment practices, and effective classroom management.
• Ability to collaborate with IEP team and communicate with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Follow district rules, policies, and regulations.
• Apply instructional processes to teaching and learning.
• Provide leadership, motivation, and instructional strategies for all students.
• Share progress with parents throughout the year.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff as needed.
• Maintain safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Maintain student records and handle confidential information.
• Plan and supervise paraprofessional assignments.
• Participate in Evaluation and IEP processes and meetings.
• Perform duties as assigned by principal or Director of Special Education.
