Job summary

Hamtramck Public Schools is seeking a qualified teacher to instruct Geography, History, Political Science, Civics/Government and Economics. This role requires current State of Michigan Teacher Certification and RX Endorsement, with ability to differentiate instruction and use data to guide planning.

The teacher will develop lesson plans, assess student progress, communicate with families, and participate in PLCs.

Qualifications

Michigan teaching certification and RX endorsement are required.
Qualified to teach Geography, History, Political Science, Civics/Government and Economics.

Responsibilities

Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, delivering differentiated instruction.
Translates plans into learning experiences to maximize instructional time.
Establishes standards for student behavior to create an effective learning atmosphere.
Evaluates student progress, maintains records, and prepares report cards.
Maintains classroom records using district technology.
Communicates with parents via conferences and other channels about progress.
Identifies student needs and collaborates with staff to address issues.
Administers standardized and local assessments.
Provides a nurturing, positive learning environment with high expectations.
Participates in school improvement initiatives and PLCs.
Plans instruction aligned with Michigan Dept of Education guidance.
Delivers differentiated lessons to develop science-related communication and support English learners.
