Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree.
• Valid Texas Counselor’s Certificate (preferred) or Licensed Professional Counselor Certificate.
• At least two years of classroom teaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of state and federal counseling regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement the school guidance and counseling program.
• Teach the school developmental guidance curriculum.
• Provide individual and group guidance for academic, career, and personal plans.
• Offer counseling on postsecondary options and financial aid guidance.
• Collaborate with district staff on testing and appraisal programs.
• Maintain required reports and records.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the community.
• Adhere to district policies and counseling regulations.
