Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a Secondary Press Operator for 1st shift. You will set up, adjust, and operate coil-fed presses, following safety rules and Lean manufacturing practices.

The role requires reading drawings and blueprints, using SAP for prints, and handling precision measuring tools. Strong manual dexterity and quality control knowledge are essential, with opportunities for overtime. Benefits are included.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform all tasks, following safety rules; report hazards.
  • Support equipment upkeep and Lean initiatives to improve OEE.
  • Set up dies and gauges; adjust ram stroke to meet spec.
  • Determine settings and adjustments per job requirements.
  • Access prints and routings via SAP; read drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform diversified operations and meet performance standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping and perform other tasks as directed.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Position Summary

The Press Operator shall be capable of setting up, adjusting, and operating coil-fed presses.

Essential Functions
  • Continuously safely perform all required tasks, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
  • Take an active role in caring for the equipment to prevent breakdowns and defects and help increase overall equipment efficiency through 5S, TPM (total productive maintenance), and other Lean Manufacturing initiatives directed by the Sedalia site.
  • The Press Operator must also be capable of setting up dies and gauges as well as adjusting ram stroke to form materials to the proper angle to the capacity of the machine.
  • The operator shall be capable of determining and making the required settings and/or adjustments to meet the job requirements.
  • The operator shall be capable of pulling up prints & routings through SAP, working from drawings and/or blueprints, and possess the necessary knowledge of all precision measuring instruments (including the video) needed to do the required operations.
  • The Press Operator shall be capable of performing all of the diversified operations assigned along with meeting satisfactory performance requirements.
  • Capable of performing said operations to close tolerances and shall inspect units for conformity to quality standards as established for the department as a whole. Inspection is to include part and/or component defects and operation of all working parts.
  • Additional responsibilities include good housekeeping and other assignments as directed by the Supervisor.
  • The Operator shall be able to work overtime as requested and posted by management.
