Job Description

Iowa Valley CSD is looking for a paraeducator in our secondary building (7-12). Iowa Valley is located in Marengo, Iowa, which is approx. 30 west of the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City corridor and approx. 15 minutes north of I-80.

Our ideal candidate will:

Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons, activities, and assignments to students.
Provide individualized and small group instruction to students, reinforcing learning and concepts under the teacher's guidance.
Support students with special needs, providing accommodations and modifications to help them succeed in the classroom.
Help manage student classroom behavior and maintain a positive, productive learning environment.
Assist students with daily activities, including organization, transitions, and following routines.
Monitor students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom settings.
Maintain communication with the classroom teacher regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
Assist with the preparation and organization of instructional materials and resources.
Support students with physical, social, or emotional needs, providing guidance and assistance as necessary.
Observe and report student behavior and learning progress to the teacher, contributing to the development of student IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) when appropriate.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
Attend professional development sessions and school meetings as required.
Other duties as required.
