Job summary

Winamac Coil Spring, Inc. is seeking a full-time Machine Operator to finish and complete formed wire forms. You will start by running the machines with supervision and progress toward solo operation through our gate process.

The role requires reading blueprints, using measurement tools, and maintaining safety standards. You will learn tooling installation and work with various presses, lathes, and saws in a loud, active environment.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow blueprints to form wire shapes.
• Ability to read basic instructions and perform simple math.
• Comfort reading micrometers/calipers and using measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of machines to finish wire forms under supervision.
• Progress to solo operation through gate process and set-up certification.
• Diagnose minor machine issues and replace/adjust parts.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness, follow OSHA rules.
• Read work orders and blueprints to meet specifications.

Job description

This position operates a variety of machines to finish and complete formed lots or samples of wire forms. You will start by running the machines with supervision. Will then be promoted to running the machine alone through our gate process and eventually become Set-Up Certified! Cut-off saws, hydraulic and OBI presses, servo bending tables, drill presses, & threading lathes are all examples of machinery involved in this position.

• Must be able to read and follow blueprints, drawings, and set-up cards to complete wire forms according to specifications.
• Must have a mechanical inclination and be able to learn specific tooling. Must be able to install such tooling on the machine.
• Must be able to use micrometers, calipers and other measuring tools.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.
