Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic arithmetic, reading, and writing skills
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely, stand for 3-6 hours, and perform bending, twisting, and repetitive motions
• Experience in institutional or school food service is helpful
• Complete Serve Safe course and pass exam with 70% or higher within 1 year of hire
• Point of sale experience preferred
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and take initiative
• Experience working with diverse school communities is preferred

Job Responsibilities

• Follow food service manager’s instructions on food production, preparation, and service
• Manage meal accounting and sales
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving areas, cafeteria, and dishroom
• Ensure safety standards in food handling and storage
• Operate point of sale equipment for meal lines
• Work collaboratively with colleagues
• Attend training sessions and workshops
• Interact positively and professionally with students
• Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation and Benefits
