Maypearl ISD - Secondary Math Teacher (Pool)

School: Maypearl Middle School or Maypearl High School

Campus Description: Maypearl ISD is a larger 3A located in Ellis County, TX.
The district will open a new/renovated High School in 2025 and addition to the Middle School campus, all a part of the 2023 Bond project.

Description/Notes: Now Approved for 2025-2026 school year for the positions mentioned below:

Signing Stipend: $1,000 paid in September of 2025, $500 paid in January of 2026, and $500 paid in August of 2026 (if returning in the same position) some criteria apply and must be fully certified in teaching field.

-High School Math (Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, Calculus)
· Eighth Grade Math/ Algebra I
· High School English I - IV
· High School Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
· HS Certified Special Education and High School Math or High School English (Must be willing to teach all sections of Sped Math or Sped English courses)

Eligibility: New employee to Maypearl ISD as of the start of 2025-2026 school year, did not teach for the district the year prior.

Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in Algebra II to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop the competencies and skills necessary to function successfully in society and advance their mathematical knowledge.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).
Demonstrated competency in Algebra II and related content areas.
Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of Algebra II curriculum and instructional methods.
Ability to design and implement lesson plans that accommodate individual student differences.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to assess and evaluate student progress effectively.
Proficiency in integrating technology and resources into the classroom.
Experience:

Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience in teaching Algebra II or secondary mathematics.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies:

Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district curriculum requirements and show written evidence of preparation. Ensure lessons accommodate various learning styles and needs.
Plan and utilize appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and technology to address the diverse learning needs of students.
Conduct assessments of student learning and adapt lessons accordingly.
Collaborate with special education teachers to modify the curriculum as needed for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Work with colleagues to set instructional goals, objectives, and methods that meet district standards.
Supervise and assign tasks to instructional aides and volunteers.
Student Growth and Development:
7. Continuously assess student achievement through formal and informal assessments, providing timely feedback.
8. Sponsor extracurricular activities and take responsibility for outside activities approved by the principal.
9. Serve as a positive role model, supporting the mission of the school district.

Classroom Management and Organization:
10. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' intellectual, emotional, and social development.
11. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and school policies.
12. Ensure the safety of students, equipment, materials, and classroom facilities.
13. Assist in the selection of instructional materials and resources.
14. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and other required documentation.

Communication:
15. Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.

Professional Growth and Development:
16. Participate in staff development activities to enhance teaching skills and professional growth.
17. Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
18. Attend faculty meetings and participate in staff committees as required.

Other:
19. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct the work of assigned instructional aide(s).

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
**Tools/Equipment Used: **Personal computer, instructional technology, and other standard classroom equipment.
**Posture:**Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.

**Lifting:**Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting and moving of textbooks and classroom materials.
**Environment:**Work inside a classroom, with occasional exposure to outdoor environments. Regular exposure to noise from students and classroom activities.
