Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a Coordinator of Secondary Literacy to lead its secondary literacy program, align resources, and support teachers with high-yield instructional practices. The role reports to the Director of Core Curriculum, coordinates with literacy specialists, and participates in division-wide initiatives to meet the district’s student achievement goals.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in Secondary ELA or related field, plus relevant classroom and leadership

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Secondary ELA or literacy instruction required; Bachelor’s considered with strong experience.
• Three+ years of secondary classroom teaching experience with literacy growth.
• License endorsement in elementary education, reading specialist, or secondary English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead literacy curriculum committees and develop/deliver literacy curricula.
• Organize and lead reviews of ELA curricula and pacing guides.
• Develop instructional resources aligned with state standards.
• Analyze Secondary literacy data to inform division decisions.
• Provide professional learning and coaching to staff.
