Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Working remotely, certified Teachers will manage instructional programs virtually. Using phone, internet, and curriculum tools, they will consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of instructional programs.

The Secondary ELA Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Completing grading, creating progress reports, and conducting parent conferences promptly;
  • Supporting instruction with asynchronous and synchronous web conferencing;
  • Reviewing curriculum and devising alternative teaching approaches to enhance understanding;
  • Communicating regularly with parents, students, and other teachers to develop Learning Plans, monitor progress, and provide feedback;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure student success and effective task distribution;
  • Developing knowledge of K-8 curriculum and detailed understanding of assigned courses;
  • Providing additional support and strategies to students and parents;
  • Maintaining student records and data accurately;
  • Working with staff to develop enrichment activities and curriculum modifications;
  • Coordinating social activities and field trips;
  • Managing virtual and regional field trips and integrating them into the curriculum;
  • Creating and maintaining a virtual school community;
  • Participating in state testing and marketing efforts;
  • Ensuring effective communication with families and students;
  • Attending community activities and performing other duties as assigned.
    Requirements:
    • Highly qualified and certified to teach in Oklahoma (appropriate to grade level responsibilities)
    • Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft OS and Office
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Flexible and adaptable
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team
    • Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and testing events, including overnight stays
    • Ability to work remotely and some evening hours as needed
