Secondary Comprehensive Learning Program Special Education Teacher

• Anticipated to begin at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
• Provide direct instruction in functional academics, daily living skills, vocational readiness, community skills, and social-emotional learning.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and state special education regulations.
• Collect and analyze student performance data to monitor progress and adjust instruction and interventions.
• Provide transition-focused programming.
• Facilitate inclusion opportunities in general education classes, electives, school activities, and community settings based on student needs and IEP goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support accommodations, modifications, and inclusive instructional practices.
• Implement evidence-based practices for students with ASD including visual supports, structured teaching, communication supports, and positive behavior interventions.
• Develop and maintain behavior support plans in collaboration with the IEP team, behavior specialists, and families.
• Support communication development using AAC systems as appropriate, and collaborate with speech-language pathologists and related service providers.
• Coordinate and manage paraprofessionals, providing guidance and feedback to ensure consistent student support.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, behavior, and transition planning.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, evaluations, eligibility determinations, and annual review meetings.
• Maintain accurate documentation including service logs, progress reports, lesson plans, and compliance paperwork.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment that promotes student dignity and independence.
