Job summary

NaturPak in Janesville, WI, is seeking a Production Manager to lead the second shift, ensure safety, food safety, and quality while meeting production schedules. You will supervise supervisors, coordinate with QA, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Sanitation to maintain a clean, compliant operation.

This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills, experience in food manufacturing, and the ability to adjust staffing and resources to hit targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
• Experience managing production schedules, staffing, downtime, and metrics.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and production reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead second-shift supervisors and production employees, setting clear expectations and accountability.
• Execute the production schedule and adjust staffing/resources to meet targets.
• Monitor throughput, downtime, waste, yield, and labor efficiency; address issues to meet goals.
• Enforce GMPs, food safety, allergen controls, sanitation, and safety policies.
• Verify ingredients/packaging are approved, identified, and within shelf life.
• Ensure production records, process checks, temperature logs, and traceability are complete.
• Partner with QA to address deviations and hold affected product when needed.
• Conduct floor observations to verify standard work, housekeeping, equipment condition, and safety.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve equipment failures and ensure safe repairs.
• Manage attendance, assignments, training, coaching, and performance concerns.
• Update hourly boards; document downtime reasons and corrective actions.
• Lead shift handoffs covering status, holds, equipment issues, staffing, and actions.
• Investigate recurring losses and implement corrective actions.
• Provide end-of-shift report to the Plant Manager.
