Job summary

Actalent in Menlo Park, CA is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a second-shift role from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

The technician builds and assembles generator components in a hands-on manufacturing environment, inspecting units and documenting findings to support engineering teams and continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency. You will read detailed procedures and drawings, use micrometers and other precision tools, and collaborate with engineering and production to meet tight

Qualifications

• Experience building complex mechanical assemblies per detailed procedures.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings/schematics.
• Proficient with micrometers, bore gauges, and gauge blocks.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble generator components and subsystems according to procedures and engineering instructions.
• Read and follow assembly procedures, drawings, schematics, and work instructions to complete assemblies.
• Perform mechanical assembly tasks using hand and power tools in a manufacturing setting.
• Inspect test units and components to verify conformance to specifications, including tight tolerances.
• Use precision measurement tools to measure and document critical dimensions.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct testing and quality inspections and document findings for engineering/quality teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and lean practices.
• Support metal fabrication and equipment assembly as needed.
