Job summary

Huntington Steel & Supply Co. is seeking a Material Handler for the second shift at the Huntington location. You will receive, inventory, and load metal shapes and plates, and assist in safe truck loading for delivery.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts or cranes, reading micrometers, and setting up saws and shears, while maintaining safety and accuracy across paperwork and measurements.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Follows safety rules and is safety conscious at all times.
• Good hygiene, work ethic, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
• Works in teams to produce quality quantities meeting customer needs.
• Possess good math and measuring skills including reading feet/inches/fractions to 1/32.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inventory metal shapes and plates.
• Load trucks to ensure safe delivery of products.
• Interact professionally with customers and vendors.
• Load/unload trucks and racks with forklift or overhead crane.
• Read micrometers and identify materials by type, size, and grade.
• Set up saws and shears for processing.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean and safe.
• Bundle products for processing or shipment per procedures.
• Examine products to verify conformance to company standards.
