Job summary

Caterpillar is hiring for a manufacturing role in Oklahoma. The position involves setting up and tearing down machine tools, loading and unloading parts, and loading programs from a central database.

You will read and interpret programs, inspect parts with calipers and micrometers, and adjust tooling to maintain quality throughout the machining process. The role requires reading mechanical drawings, prior manufacturing experience, and willingness to work a second shift or a special weekend

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience in production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Willingness to work second shift Mon-Thu (4PM-2:30AM) or Fri-Sun (4AM-4:30PM).

Responsibilities

• Setup/teardown of machine tools - Load and/or unload jaws, fixtures, tooling as needed.
• Download programs from central database.
• Read and understand programs to better understand process.
• Load and unload parts from machine.
• Utilize measuring equipment for in-process and finished product inspection to control quality.
• Monitor cutting tools and make adjustments, set machine offsets and index/change inserts as needed.
• Make tooling changes to improve process.
• Keep immediate area clean and orderly.
