Job summary

Mercyhealth in Rockford, IL is seeking a skilled laboratory professional to collect patient specimens, run tests across CLIA complexity levels, and ensure timely, accurate results. You will monitor QC, troubleshoot issues, and support staff training to maintain high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 4 years laboratory experience.
• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science preferred.
• MLT/AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens.
• Operate and troubleshoot information systems and laboratory instrumentation; document quality control activities.
• Ensure turnaround times and report critical results; document and report findings.
• Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity tests per CLIA 42 CFR 493.
• Participate in QA/QC procedures and proficiency testing; interpret QC results.
