SEJ Services, LLC is seeking a Second Shift Industrial/Janitorial Manager in Sumter, SC. The role oversees daily janitorial operations, staffing, payroll, and client relationships while driving service quality and safety.

Responsibilities include leading a team, scheduling, and identifying growth opportunities. Competitive compensation is provided with a quarterly bonus and benefits. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced service environment.

Qualifications

• Background check, drug screen and all hiring requirements.
• Experience managing hourly labor in a service environment is preferred.
• Strong leadership and accountability; ability to coach and develop teams.
• Willingness to work a full-time flexible schedule across shifts as needed.
• Hands-on willingness to perform operational tasks (cleaning, trash removal, floors, restrooms, etc.).
• Commitment to safety with PPE compliance and steel-toed shoes.

• Serve as primary client contact, conducting walkthroughs and resolving issues promptly.
• Own labor, scheduling, payroll, supply ordering, and employee recognition budgets.
• Identify and pursue additional service opportunities and implement process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations: Own all daily janitorial operations across assigned portfolio, ensure all services meet quality and safety expectations, conduct inspections and safety audits, and monitor inventory and supply ordering. Industrial and janitorial cleaning, LOTO, fire watch, and landscaping
• Leadership: Hire, onboard, train, develop, and coach assigned employees. Manage staff performance, including discipline and terminations as needed, while building and maintaining a stable, safe, and reliable workforce
• Customer Service: Serve as primary point of contact for client leadership, including regular walkthroughs and meetings, and resolving issues quickly and professionally
• Financial: Own labor, scheduling, payroll, supply ordering, and employee appreciation budgets
• Growth: Identify and sell additional service opportunities (tag work) and ensure successful execution. Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen overall performance

Qualifications

• Background & Work Authorization: Must be able to successfully complete a background check, drug screen and meet all hiring requirements
• Experience: Prior experience managing hourly labor in a service environment preferred; janitorial or facility services experience a plus
• Leadership: Positive attitude with the ability to accept feedback, lead teams, and hold employees accountable
• Flexibility: Must be willing to work a full-time flexible schedule across shifts as business needs require
• Hands-On Support: Willing and able to step into any role and perform operational tasks when needed, including trash removal, vacuuming and carpet cleaning, sweeping and mopping hard surface floors, cleaning restrooms, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, spot cleaning glass, dusting, restocking supplies, and stripping and waxing VCT.
• Safety: Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Steel Toed Shoes Are Required
• Communication & Technology: Strong communication skills and proficiency with basic computer and mobile systems
• Organization: Able to manage multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency and customer service focus
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties associated with janitorial operations, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and remaining active throughout the shift.
• Base salary depending on experience
• Quarterly bonus opportunity based on personal scorecard results
