Hormel Foods – Sanitation Employee in Alma, KS is a 2nd shift role from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM with possible extended hours and weekends. You will keep the production area clean and safe by performing sanitation, waste removal, and equipment cleaning while supporting GMPs and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Perform repetitive hand and wrist motion throughout a shift.
• Lift/push/pull 50+ lbs as required (Occasional).
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks for extended periods to perform job related tasks.
• Kneel/squat as necessary to complete job-related tasks.
• Grasping & pinching motions to complete job-related tasks
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Must be 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

• Collect and remove trash, recyclables, and waste materials from production lines and designated areas.
• Transport waste materials to dumpsters, compactors, or other approved disposal locations.
• Operate cardboard baling equipment safely and efficiently to prepare recyclable materials for shipment.
• Clean and sanitize containers, totes, bins, utensils, and production equipment in designated washroom areas.
• Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment according to established procedures and schedules.
• Perform general housekeeping duties throughout production, warehouse, break room, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain floors and work surfaces.
• Clean walls, drains, and other facility areas as assigned.
• Replenish sanitation supplies and notify management when supplies are low.
• Maintain sanitation equipment and cleaning tools in good condition.
• Follow all food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements.
• Comply with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or sanitation concerns to supervision.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and other duties as assigned.
• Complete any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor to maintain efficient plant operations.
