Job summary

Molex in Naperville, IL seeks a hands‑on Fiber Optics Group Lead for the second shift to guide production, train operators, and provide technical direction on fiber optic assembly.

You will partner with Engineering, Quality, and Technicians to resolve issues, support NPI, improve workflows, and ensure safety, quality, and on‑time delivery.

This role requires 5+ years manufacturing, ability to work 2pm‑12am, and strong problem solving; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work the second‑shift schedule (2pm-12am) and support shift coverage.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and process documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical guidance to second‑shift production personnel.
• Coordinate activities to support production priorities and customer schedules.
• Monitor workflow and address barriers affecting production, quality, safety, and delivery.
• Serve as first point of contact for second shift operational issues; escalate as needed.
• Facilitate shift handoffs and communicate production status, priorities, and concerns.
• Document unresolved issues for follow‑up by supervisors or cross‑functional teams.
• Train new operators and technicians on manufacturing methods and SOPs.
• Own creation and continuous improvement of work instructions.
• Serve as a technical expert for fiber optic assembly and manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot process, equipment, tooling, and quality issues.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
