Job summary

Ziegler CAT in Bloomington, MN is hiring a full-time Large Bore Engine Assembly Technician to build Cat 3500, C27, C32 and C175 engines at our Bloomington Rebuild Center. The role involves following Cat and Ziegler SOPs, working safely, and supporting repairs and rebuilds with a collaborative team.

This position requires a 2-year diesel technology program or equivalent, strong communication skills, and basic computer use.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field.
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members.
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems.
• Tools provided.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large bore engines including Cat 3500 series, Cat C27, C32 and C175 series engines.
• Document and follow Cat and Ziegler standard operating procedures.
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards.
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding repairs and rebuilds.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge.

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full-time Large Bore Engine Assembly Technician to work on large engine components at our Bloomington Rebuild Center. Hours: M-F, 3:30pm-12am. The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location.

Qualifications:

2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience, 2+ years relevant large bore engine assembly experience preferred. Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members. Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems. Tools provided. Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Ability to work in a team environment.

This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.

Minimum physical requirements:

Push/pull up to 50 lbs. Lift/carry up to 60 lbs. Lift bulky objects. Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.

Working Conditions:

May be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
